Belthangady: Dalita Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) interrupted the Independence Day celebrations at Santhekatte, Belthangady opposing the atrocities on dalits and urging to save Dalits from Sangha Parivar, on Monday.

DSS, Belthangady unit officials said that the atrocity on Dalits in the name of ‘Goaksha’ is against the constitution. “We are protesting against the irresponsible policy of the government,” they said.

Nearly 150 DSS activists joined the protest and interrupted the Independence day procession.

The protestors were taken to the custody by the police.
