Bengaluru : Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday blocked Yuva Brigade Founder Chakravarti Sulibele on Twitter after a spat between the two over the issue of flood relief for Karnataka.
It all started with Sulibele’s tweet crticising the indifference of the Centre in releasing relief funds for flood affected North Karnataka.
Gowda responded to Sulibele’s tweet saying, “I pity the people who have been giving false information to the people regarding the flood relief status. Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, has already given information about the reports prepared by the state about the immediate funds needed for flood-affected areas, intermediate relief, and long term relief plans.”
“Finally, this man has spoken!,” said Sulibele in yet another tweet.
“Don’t forget that the ministerial position is a gift to you by the people of the state. What is the use of the compensation if it does not come on time?” he asked in his tweet.
As the barbs began taking a personal turn, Gowda tweeted: “I have no answer for people who resort to making personal attacks. The affected people are our own. Their welfare and future are our responsibility.
We have wiped their tears,” he stated.
