Modikeri (Kodagu): The Son-in-low of Kodagu, CM DV Sadananda Gowda received a roaring warm welcome as CM on his first visit to Kodagu district along with his wife Datty, like a new bridegroom, from the people of the hills, where coffee, orange, cardamom, rice and colourful flowers grow all through the year.
Speaking at a reception meeting, Devaragunda S. Gowda from neighbouring Sullia taluk, stated that in state politics, high tides and strong waves are common, but the BJP ship makes the journey to its destination.
All our MLAs are good enough for ministerships, but one has to make careful and limited selection for another 6 posts.
There is a recurring demand for a minister from Kodagu, which had 3 such in 2000. As the Son-in-low of Kodagu and CM, I can assure you all that MLA Appachu Ranjan would be made a minister, he told an appreciative gathering on Monday here.
He would reserve funds in the next budget(2012-13) for a medical College in Kodagu. The CM unveiled a brass statue of Guddemane Appaiah Gowda, a freedom fighter.
He proceeded to Guddehosur near Kushalanagar to meet and mingle with his in-lows, and neighbours/family members of his wife, who received him in great joy.
