Bangalore: Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has informed that there would be an expansion of the state cabinet in a week’s time. A cabinet expansion is expected to give some relief to the chief minister who is overburdened with the responsibility of as many as 21 portfolios.

However, the chances of him being able to expand the cabinet within a week are said to be remote as of now with State BJP chief embarking on a foreign tour on May 7, Monday all of a sudden.

But, the chief minister says a cabinet expansion was inevitable as he was unable to do justice to all the portfolios he is holding.

At the same time he has said there was no need to attach any special importance to the expansion and there was no politics in it.
