Mangalore : On the eve of Independence Day, Ullal unit of Democratic Youth Federation of India. (DYFI) organized a ‘Save Freedom Rally’ to protest against corruption, neo-liberalism and imperialism at Unity Hall on August 14, Sunday.
Addressing the protestors, K N Umesh, Former President, Democratic Youth Federation of India said that there is no freedom, where the government imposes 22 restrictions on a peaceful protest held against corruption.

Mr Umesh said that Union and State governments are involved in corruption and scandals, which are threatening the people’s freedom in the country..
Flaying the religious fundamentalists of the country, he said that politicians are planning to divide the nation on the basis of caste and creed.
DYFI District President Muneer Katipalla, Advocate B Ramachandra Babbukatte, U Arunkumar, Secretary, Traders Association, Thokkottu and many others were present.
