Mangalore : Democratic Youth Federation of India State president Muneer Katipalla on Monday said that ongoing communal strife in the district was coming in the way of organising pro-people movements to get rid of social evils.
Speaking after inaugurating the DYFI district-level youth convention here, Mr. Muneer said the district administration was plagued by sand and gambling mafias. While the DYFI and like-minded organisations were making efforts to fight these vices, communal tensions were coming in the way, he said.
DYFI Mangaluru City president B.K. Imtiyaz and councillor Dayananda Shetty were present.
