Mangaluru: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged protest in front of Colaco Hospital for not accepting the demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes from the patients, on Thursday.
DYFI leader Imtiyaz alleged that the hospital management is not accepting demonetised currency notes as well as the cheques in the fear of they may bounce.
“Hospital management started to accept the cheques after the intervention of DYFI. Nearly 13 patients who were supposed to discharge on Wednesday couldn’t go hoe due to lack of new currency notes,” he said.
He further said that when DYFI approached DHO he said that he is helpless in this matter and the hospital management sent some female staff to speak to us about the protest.
“Hospital staffs are also refusing to hand over the prescription as well as discharge summaries without paying the bill. And again they are refusing to accept the cheques also,” he added.
DYFI state President Muneer Katipalla, Santhosh Kumar Bajal and others were present.
