Chikkamagaluru: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has succeeded in arresting one of the close associate of right wing activist Preveen Khandya, over DySP Kallappa Handibaag suicide case.

Abhijith is the arrested person; he is also named as an accused in this case. He was on run since the incident took place and CID personnel caught him at Bengaluru on Tuesday night.
Firstly he was subjected to the medical checkup after bringing him to the town. Then CID interrogated him.

The accused is pursuing degree course in a private college at Bengaluru. He was active in pro-Hindu organizations and said to be a close aide of prime accused Praveen Khandya. CID informed that Abhijith’s involvement in the case is he helped to abduct Tejas Gowda, a financier from town, which was ended up in DySP’s suicide.

After Tejas Gowda’s abduction Abhijith was missing. He had taken Tejas to Bengaluru. After the incident came to limelight, Abhijit got absconded.

The whole drama was directed by Khandya. First Abhijit offered bail to Tejas on some case. Then Abhijit abducted Tejas. When police raided a farm at Chikkolale and arrested 24 people. Even tejas Gowda was also present among those.
