Sullia: 313 devotees offered ‘Ede Snana’ service to Lord Subramanya on account of the annual Champa Shashti festival and in return for favours received from the Lord and to meet the religious vows they had taken in the past on Wednesday December 12. Earlier on Tuesday which was the Chowthi, the same ritual was performed by 134 devotees.
Following the Maha Pooja to the Lord in the afternoon, plantain leaves were laid out in the outer precincts of the temple on which rice and dishes were placed. Cows were then allowed to eat these things. This was followed by the devotees rolling on the leftovers.
As a precautionary measure, there was a good presence police to maintain law and order.
Brahmarathotsava of the temple is being held on Thursday December 13.
