Nobody wants to be a temple priest, or village social worker, not even the children of such priests and do-gooders.
What is really driving them hard? They already have money at home, cars in the garages, and cash in the pockets, What will a degree, such as Master of Business Administration bring them in a slick dress career, more heaps of currency notes from Reserve Bank of India. For mixing business with Administration, as a master chef?
Cooks may have a degree called M.C.(Master Cook) in Hotel Management but an MBA will not be able to handle a Zillah Panchayat, a large temple, a Taluk school or college even post office, much less on agricultural, or Goat farm!

When supply of these seats outgrow demand, because all do not go in for higher education all the time, large number of seats goes a-begging as in Engineering or Medicine.
Karnataka is a major contributor to these MBA colleges, with almost every town over 5 lakhs of people, having an institute for management/administration/ skills in services.
