Mangalore : In commemoration to birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed, Muslim community celebrated Eid-e-Milad on Feb 5, Sunday.

Large number of children from Madrasas participated in rallies across the city participated in the Eid-e-Milad rally held in Bunder in Mangalore.

The programmes to spread the teachings of Prophet Mohammed were organized, where the preachers briefed the significance of celebrating the birthday of Prophet Mohammed at Eid-e-Milad at mosques.

Yaqoob Kallarpe, a Salafi cleric said that the prophet has warned Muslims against innovations in religion and that the prophet and his disciples never celebrated Eid-e-Milad displaying badges and banners and shouting slogans anywhere in the history of Islam.
