Mangalore : A body of an elderly woman was found dead at her residence in Alake on August 1 Friday.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sushila (75).

It is learnt that the murderers had entered the house a night between July 31 Thursday and August 1 Friday and attacked the woman with a sharp weapon on her neck.

The murderers have robbed her gold from her body and a car parked in the premises and fled with no clue.

During the police interrogation Sushila’s son Sandeep Shah who resides with his wife on the first floor of the same house said that he had not known about the murder till morning.

Kadri police reached the spot and investigation is on.

The body of the deceased was later shifted to Wenlock Hospital for post-mortem.
