Mangalore : Chief Minister of Karnataka DV Sadananda Gowda said that the voters of the district casting their votes to Captain Ganesh Karnik and D. H. Shankarmurthy will strengthen the party to work for the development of the state.
He was speaking at the Election Safety Meeting organized by the District BJP at AB Shetty Memorial Hall on June 2, Saturday.
He further said that normally parties conduct rehearsal during the election and Vidhan Soudha is the best place where political discussion is taking place. Though the national discussion is taking place at Vidhan Soudha, Vidhan Parishat and Rajya Sabha helps the members of the party to give some ideas on various essential issues and take state in new direction.
He also said that during his discussion with the voters of graduate constituency, the members said that even though 23 districts and 126 taluk of the state was affected with the disaster, the state government has managed to give away the proper salary to the government workers without any deduction.
During the disaster, the central government sent two teams of experts to report the disaster situation. A first team led by Vijay Kumar consisting of 11 officials and the second team led by Sharma, said that it was the biggest disaster of the state and state government has managed it in such a way that they cannot make whether any disaster has taken place or not, he said.
Speaking on the candidate’s selection, the congress party could not select any candidate with unity and several leaders left from the meeting, but the BJP has selected 6 candidates with unity and supported each other.
The teachers are getting their pay apart from the TA and DA and the pension is also been double in the last month. No state government has given such highest pay to the teachers and hence they must vote BJP candidates for more development.
He also said that state government has implemented 151 service centers in 11 department of the state as per the Right to Service Act, and in a month it has received 18 lakhs applications and 15 lakhs applications are disposed. The State government has not deleted any schemes for the people but has implemented more number of additional schemes, he added.
Ananth Kumar, BJP leader and Bangalore South MP, said that central government has not to help distressed people in 23 districts and 126 taluks during the disaster.
On Sonia Gandhi’s visit to Karnataka a month back to study its problems, state government asked for 6,500 crore of fund for the disaster management and she had said to discuss the issue in the Parliament and just sanctioned Rs. 283 crore and released only Rs. 70 crore as compensation to the disaster prone state.
He also said that State Government has given the amount of Rs 600 crore to the disaster prone places from the government budget.
Ananth Kumar also said that the party will hold Jana Sangharsh Abhiyan from June 7 to 22 against hike on petrol price and other commodities. He also said that central government is colleting tax of Rs 36 per a litre of petrol.
He said that BJP is for Vikasa (development) and Congress is for Vinasha (destruction). At present government is giving loans to farmers at 0% interest.
