Mangaluru: The case of a bride-to-be, who allegedly eloped with her boyfriend from another religion, has got a new turn.
Priyanka, a 25-year-old from Daregudde in Moodbidri, reportedly eloped with a youth named Hyder, has reportedly drafted a letter to her family members saying she is happy and they stop searching for her.
The letter states that the couple would soon produce themselves before the court. It further reads that Priyanka had shot letters to the district deputy commissioner, district superintendent of police and Moodbidri police station.
However, Priyanka’s mother has cast aspersions on the letter saying the handwriting did not match with that of Priyanka. The mother’s contention is that a third party has written the letter in the name of Priyanka to change the course of the case. The letter has been sent from Sajipa near Inoli. Incidentally, Hyder hails from Inoli.
The letter has been handed over to the Moodbidri police station. Police officials have said investigation would be undertaken based on the letter.
