Mangalore: District in-charge Minister CT Ravi has said that the encroachment of lakes in the district will not be tolerated and stern action would follow against the encroachers.
The Minister who was presiding over the Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) review meeting held at the ZP meeting hall on August 14, Tuesday, directed the officials to initiate necessary action within a month.
Earlier MLA UT Khader drew the attention of the minister towards the Kochi-Mangalore Gas pipeline project and alleged the authorities were not taking locals into confidence with regard to land acquisition.
Responding to the complaint, the district ministers said that the locals should be consulted by the officers before land acquisition and other matters.
