Puttur : Puttur police are investigating the death of 20-year-old Varsha who was hit by a goods train at Puttur on September 28.
Reportedly, Varsha, a student of Engineering College at Puttur was killed by a running train when she had visited the local Railway Station with her friends on September 28, evening.
Earlier it was reported that Varsha was hit by a moving train as she was posing for a selfie photo near the track, while others stated that her veil was stuck on the track and killed under train before she and her friends could save her. In the incident one of her close friend too had sustained injuries.
But the family members of Varsha claimed that statement from her friends of Varsha clicking a selfie is false since, her phone was equipped with a front camera.
They also said that, they did not found any pictures of Varsha clicked at railway track from her mobile they recovered from the police. The truth will only be revealed after detailed investigation, they added.
Varsha’s father had registered a complaint stating it to be an unnatural death case. Police have recorded the statements of the train loco-pilot, guard and Varsha’s friends and the investigation of the case in progress.
The police are waiting for an autopsy report.
