Mangalore :  The 153rd birth anniversary of Sri M Visvesaraya is celebrated as Engineers Day on September 15. The Civil Engineers Association celebrated Engineers Day and also marked the day with the inaugural of Techno Week 2013 at a function held at Ocean Pearl on Sunday.

Ranganath Aithal-Chairman of the Association welcomed the gathering. Mohammed Nazeer-Commissioner of Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), and Jayakumar, Assistant Vice President of Ramco Cements Ltd were the chief guests.

 In his address, Mohammad Nazeer stressed the role of engineers in modern day society, Er. Padmanabha Rai and Prof. Dr. Katta Venkataramana were presented with the ” Eminent Engineers Awards”, and young engineer K Anil Hegde was presented with ” Anatha Mithra Award.”

Anil S D’Souza-Secretary of the association delivered the vote of thanks.Rajendra Rao Kalbavi compered the programme.
