Mangalore: The Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Engineers’ Association will be celebrating the birth anniversary of Sir. M. Vishvesharaya, as ‘Engineers’ Day’ on September 15. The function will be held in association with Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya.
Speaking to reporters, B.S. Balakrishna, President of KDKUEA, said the programme will be held at Vishwa Shanthi Mandir, near Ganapathi Temple at Urwa Stores at 5.30 pm on Saturday.
Dr. A.U. Ravishankar, Head of Civil Engineering Department, NIT-K, Suratkal, Dr. Basavaraj Rajarushi, Chairperson of Brahmakumaris Sports Wing, Mount Abu, and Sourabha, Centre-in-charge of Brahmakumaris, Manipal, will be the chief guests.
CV Kamath, Consulting Engineer of Mangalore, will be conferred with the Engineers Day Honour on the occasion. A technical quiz for engineering college students is being held on Thursday at St. Joseph Engineering College, Vamajoor, as part of the celebrations.
