Mangalore : The Mangalore Press Club in association with DK Working Journalists’ Union (DKWJU) organized Press Club Day at Urwa Church Hall on March 10, Saturday.
M. N. Rajendra Kumar, the president of the South Canara Central Cooperative Bank, inaugurated the event.
Speaking on the occasion he said that journalist’s life is a challenging one and appreciated the journalists who worked in the field of media.
He also said that usually journalists come from poor families and get the high respect in the society. He urged the journalists to be committed in their work and give a corruption free country.
Commenting on the recent attacks on journalists in Bangalore MCC Commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar said that the journalists must handle such situation and disseminate the complete news and avoid being biased.
Later Mr. Rajendra Kumar and Dr. Harish Kumar felicitated reporters and photojournalists who have received various awards in few years and also distributed the preize winners of Sports day.
