Mangalore : Pingara Kannada Rajyotsava Award – 2013 announced here on Tuesday, October 29, for Eric Alfred Correa, the philanthropist who has built 98 houses for the poor.
Award will be presented on November 26 at 5 pm at Town Hall, said Roy Castelino, convener of the award selection committee,
Pingara Weekly, organizing the 9th annual award ceremony.
Selection committee has chosen Eric Correa from the 20 eligible applications for the Pingara Kannada Rajyotsava Award- 2013,
Eleven members committee of Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Roy Castelino, Harikrishna Punaroor, Fr William Menezes, Srikar Prabhu, Rohan Monteiro, C G Pinto, Dr B G Suvarna, Elias Fernandes, Ramakrishna R and Elroy Kiran Crasta decision was made.
Jaya C Suvarna in 2012, Harikrishna Punaroor in 2011, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project in 2010, Mandd Sobhann in 2009, Grace Pinto in 2008, Daijiworld 2007, Dr Mohan Alva in 2006 and rural reporter Kunchady Dayanand Pai Karkala in 2005, earlier awards were given.
Pingara editor Raymond D’Cunha, Fr William Menezes and Sunil D’Cunha were present.
