Mangalore : Aras Gibieza , a two-time European stunt champion performed on the remodelled 180 kg Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle left the audience on the eighth floor of City Centre Mall awestruck.
The show off his stunts as part of the India Bike Week On Tour event held here on Thursday in the city.
This event was to select the best stunt performers, who will take part in the annual India Bike Week festival to be held in Goa on February 20 and 21.
Apart from Mangaluru, this selection is being held in Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Pune, Coimbatore and Kochi.
Mr. Gibieza’s brief performance started with a few wheelies. He went on to show bunny hop, 360-degree wheelies, 360-degree stoppie and drifting stunts.
He ended his 15-minute long presentation with a wheelie and got off his motorcycle in a flash by placing the side-stand and switching off his engine – all in one go.
Shrijit Patil, founding member of India Bike Week, said they have been going around different regions to encourage new talent. “We are here as there is a culture of stunts and there is a bike culture.” The event has been getting good response for the last two years and this edition is likely to see 8,000 bikers participating and footfalls of more than 10,000 people, he said.
