Udupi: Two students Varada and Gautham were returning from Udupi to Mattapady in Brahmavar, after taking part in a students’ massive rally organized by ABVP against blackmailing and ransom extortion by one Mohammed Yaseer from his girlfriend Sonal Naik and at Mattapady they saw a Muslim girl and started eve-teasing her on the road.

Hearing her screams her brother Shafiq who was at a shop nearby came over and had a heated exchange of words with the duo. At this juncture Asif and Shoaib joined the quarrel after some arguments the separated. Later at around 7.30 pm eight people came in Innova and Scorpio cars belonging to Satyaraj and Prajwal Shetty and assaulted the three Muslim friends who were injured in the fracas, and were taken to Ajjarkad hospital in Udupi.

The Muslim girl later lodged a complaint of eve-teasing and assault in Brahmavar police station.
