Puttur : During the first phase polls, Electronic Voting Machines in several booths in Puttur went out of order delaying the polling for few hours on April 17, Thursday.
In spite of taking all the precautionary measures for conducting smooth polling, few EVMs had defects in Bajatturu and Perabe polling booth, delaying polling for half an hour, however, the officials provided Alternative EMVs in these two booths coming under Sullia assembly constituency along with additional half an hour time for polling.
According to the officials, a total of 243 votes have exercised their franchise in the defected EVMs, which will be also counted.
