Belthangady :  The former president of Belthangady Taluk Panchayat TG Joy (49) who had sustained serious injuries in a road accident at Belloor Cross in Hasan on July 4, has succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital; at Jayanagar in Bangalore. He is survived by his mother, wife and son.

The mishap had occurred when Joy along with a few others was returning from a Congress meet in Bangalore. The tyre of the vehicle had burst leading to the tragedy.

Joy had served as Chief of Syrian Catholic Society, Malayali Christian Association and was also the Treasurer of the Belthangady town unit of the Congress.
