Udupi : Udupi’s former BJP MLA Raghupathi Bhat married Shilpa Shastry of Barkur at  the Karamballi Venkatramana Temple on October 9, Wednesday morning.  This is the second marriage of the former MLA whose first wife Padmapriya had died under suspicious circumstances in 2008.  For Shilpa too  this is a second marriage. She is a divorcee.

Lakshminarayana, MLA of Byndoor,  Manohar Shetty, builder, G Shanker of G Shanker Family Trust and others  attended the wedding and wished the couple.

Raghupathi Bhat’s brother  Ramesh Barithaya who spoke to reporters said Bhat married heeding to the request of his family members to get settled in life.
