Mangalore:  Excise commissioner Chethan Kumar from Mangalore excise department as per the information of Prashanth Kumar K, Excise Sub Inspector, under the direction of K C Haridas, Excise Joint Commissioner, Mangalore Division and B V Hoovappa Gowda, Exside deputy commissioner, Dakshina Kannada have seized about 432 litres of liquor being illegally transported from Goa to Kerala, from Railway Over Bridge near Alape Padil on March 21, Wednesday.

The officials also confiscated a Maruti Zen car (KA 19 C 5351) was also seized from the accused.

Vishwanath alias Vasanta (34), Anil Kumar K Y (29) and Manoj Kumar, all hailing from Kasargod district, were arrested at around 3:30 am near railway overbridge at Alape, Padil.

Inspector M K Keshav Murthy, sub-inspector B S Devarajappa, constables Ganesh Shetty, Pradeep Kumar, Manju C, Parashivamurthy and Basavaraju conducted the raid.
