Chamrajanagar: The Excise minister, M.P. Renukacharya, who has made a great success of distribution of Indian made liquors in the state to boost state incomes from such dangerous drinks, has now abused journalists by saying today that some corrupt scribes had brought the former CM and BJP leader Yeddyurappa and now a prisoner, to such a sorry state, when he was the beloved leader of Renukacharya’s gang of followers.
These media persons who drove Bookanakere Yeddyurappa to spend his Diwali festival in Parappana Agrahara state central jail(upto November 3) should be punished, Renukacharya blurted in his intoxicated mood, on Monday, October 24 in a public talk.
Certain journalists were proven “most Corrupt” persons, he charged and they must declare their crores of rupees worth assets before the Lokayukta Voluntarily, Renukacharya declared.
These reporters who wrote against the ex-CM, had made character-killing of Yeddy, just to make huge wealth for only themselves, Renukacharya charged.
Let their property be declared, and then they can climb into CM’s seat he fumed. He pronounced that it was the duty of the Fourth estate to correct whatever social wrongs done by the legislative, executive and the judicial wings of a democracy. The newsmen should rectify their own faults first, he pontificated.
