Kasaragod: The Kerala police seized on Sunday at Perla, from a parked car in Kasaragod district, a large amount of explosives in a major crack down on illegal and Smuggled materials of destruction to create terrorism on west coast.
The Badiadka police seizure on Sunday was of nearly 200 Kgs. Ammonium Nitrate kept in 4 plastic bags, 500 detonators in 5 packets and six rolls of wicks for igniting them, close to a petrol pump around 7PM in Perla on seized on Saturday.
The abandoned car belonged to one Muhammed, son of Abdul Khader, a Puttur (Karnataka) resident. It was impounded by local police on a routine search of vehicular traffic in the township boarding Karnataka.
A mobile phone left in the car, produced the identify of the vehicle owner in an established way, said police who left nothing to chance. No arrests are yet made, as they are following clues.
