Puttur: Puttur town police have nabbed a student of a private college at Mangaluru for spreading fake message of a lecturer’s death through Whatsapp, on Thursday.

Vinuth N of Bantwal and second BCom student of a reputed private college at Mangaluru is the arrested person. It is reported that in past the lecturer had insulted him in a class, so he took revenge through spreading fake message on Whatsapp.

He had sent one message to one group saying that the lecturer has died due to heart attack. The message spread in various groups and panic relatives and well wishers rushed to lecturers home on the same night. After confirming that the lecturer is alive, a complaint was filed in the police station.

Vinuth had completed his pre-university education in a private college in Puttur. Investigation officer of this case Mahesh Prasad arrested him and during the interrogation Vinuth revealed that he felt humiliated, when his idea was not considered in a proper way, by the lecturer. So, he decided to take revenge on him.
