Mangalore: The Bajpe immigration officials on September.21 nabbed Ahmed Kareem Moosa, a passenger who arrived from Muscat on a fake passport at Bajpe aerodrome.
He was handed over to Bajpe police for enquiry and further action. He was produced in a local court and remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday.
Moosa is said to be hailing from Kunjattur of Manjeshwar Taluk in Kasaragod district (Kerala). He gave a fictitious address in Mandya to mislead airport officials, and had obtained a passport belonging to Abdul Qader from Bangalore.
He had made several trips earlier between Muscat and Bajpe-Kenjar, but was noticed only now for holding wrong documents. Several such misguiding and false passport cases have been detected by airport officials well in time in Mangalore.
Passengers traveling through Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kerala airports on fake passports, were finally caught and were put behind bars here many times, it is reported from Immigration department.
