Mangalore: Inaugurating the 44^th district convention (Samyuktha) of Inner Wheel 318 Rotarians here on Friday family welfare minister U T Khader called for taking women in to the middle of national life in India as they constitute 50% of the Indian population at present. However, he found that they were kept out and neglected to look after homes and not national activities to the extent they should be allowed to participate. He asked women to shoulder the responsibility of national level happenings with their special sense of youthful activity whether in Education, Law and Administration.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Malini Hebbar, while serial star Shanthala Kamath and Rotary district 318 Chief S. Gururaj were main guests on the occasion.

Mithra Prabhu, Sushma Bansal, Sudha Prasad and several others attended the conference of Inner Wheel District 318.
