Mangalore:  A farewell function organized for outgoing Ayurveda College students turned a nightmare on Wednesday (October 19) night, as they had food poisoning, and many were hospitalized, vomiting and feeling shaken up.

They had eaten burgers prepared in a city-based which adversely affected their health and moods, at a hotel dinner.

Out of 300 students who consumed food from the caterers, 160 felt nausea and other bad effects. 120 students had mild effects and got well with a first aid relief. 40 more were treated in SCS Hospital.

Most of these students were said to be coming form Kerala. Several teachers also had participated in the parting dinner.
