Chikmagalur : A person who was accused of raping his daughter, was beaten up by the public, at Kalludoddi on Wednesday morning. The man has been identified as Rahamath Ulla Khan (45).

The neighbours caught him and tied him to an electricity pole and thrashed him. They garlanded him with sandals before handing him over to the police.

It was said that the girl was raped by her father continuously for three months. She had informed it to her mother and uncle. Khan was missing from house for the last few months. He had returned home recently and continue to harass the minor daughter.

A case has been registered in Chikmagalur rural police station. The accused was produced before the court on Wednesday and the girl has been admitted to the district hospital for medical examination.
