Mangalore: Vishwas Trust a city-based service organisation is involved with the welfare of senior citizens. Its annual activities are taken up in ‘Festival month-February, which were held in 2012 on March 12 Monday at Roshni Nilaya.
Various prizes on events organised in February for persons above 60 years were presented on the occasion to the winners. Loretta Lobo president of Mangalore Ladies Club distributed the prizes as a chief guest on the occasion.
She described the elders as treasure box of love, care and sacrifice as they passed through several stages of life earlier in ups and downs.
Loretta sought empowerment of these elderly persons to guide the younger generations to enhance their vales.
In a completive world they are sidelined to take rest but they face the terminal of bad health, restlessness and apprehensions, she indicated.
The elder citizens had done singing cooking (without fire) sports and flower arrangements, and won Prizes. She asked them to accept more challenges even in advanced age.
Olinda Perira director of trust and Santosh Kadri were present. Lidwin Lobo introduced the guest.
