Puttur: The police on Thursday arrested Rameez Raja, fifth accused in the Rajadhani Jewelers shootout case at Puttur. He was arrested from Kozhikode Airport.

Six people fired bullets at Rajadhani Jewelers, Puttur on October 6, 2015. They immediately fled the scene. It is said that the accused returned when they realized that the first shootout was a failure.

Rammez Raja, resident of Kumble is said to be employed as a salesman in Dubai. The Puttur police arrested him as soon as he landed at Kozhikode Airport.

Asir, Ali alias Munna, Anwar and Kalia Rafiq were arrested by the Puttur town police. Rameez was produced before a court and was remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.
