Udupi: The city bus operators have woken up from their slumber no sooner the district administration decided to commence government bus services to the DC administration complex at Rajathadri. Accordingly, private buses have commenced trips to Rajathadri from Monday.

As of now, one city bus arrives at the Manipal End Point where Rajathadri is located, every 20 minutes. It may be recalled here that the absence of proper public conveyance to Rajathadri even six months after it commenced operations   at Manipal End Point had greatly inconvenienced the people particularly with as many as 57 government offices located here. People were even left with no option but to take to autorickshaws by paying as much as Rs 25 from Udupi.

It may also be recalled here that several citizens had earlier drawn the attention of the State Human Rights commission Chairman towards the problems faced by them in the absence of proper bus service to Rajathadri.
