Udupi: Former minister, member of parliament (MP) Jayaprakash Hegde has joined BJP leaving Congress Party on Wednesday at the state BJP office in the state capital. This is the third party for Hegde after Janata Dal and Congress. According to the sources, former MP was decided to join BJP as he was neglected by his party after he lost to present Lok Sabha MP Shobha Karandlaje in the last Lok Sabha elections. Upcoming, state assembly elections are expected to be a challenge for Hegde along with new opportunities to move forward in his political career.
Meanwhile, reacting to the the Hegde’s entry to BJP, JDS President HD Deve Gowda has said that BJP is an opportunist party and moves forward according to its own agenda. Rajashekahar Murthy, Bangarappa and others were suffered after joining BJP, Gowda said.
