Mangalore: The Police have filed FIRs against 46 SFI activists who  made a vain bid to thwart the Rajyotsava celebrations at Nehru Maidan on November 1.

The SFI activists had tried to barge in no sooner district minister CT Ravi began his speech and their main grouse was against a report recommending closure of thousands of Kannada  medium schools in state.

Soon after the protest, the police had detained all the 46 including a few minor students.

Reacting to the latest development, the DYFI District President Muneer Katipalla said  it was wrong  to register criminal case against the protestor.
