Mangaluru : A fire broke out damaged nearly Rs 3 lakh assets at Kavitha Residency at Urwa Stores on May 26.

Sources said, the exhaust air duct was not cleaned in long time. When the temperature increased in the kitchen, the duct caught fire and thick smoke started.

As soon as the fire were noticed, two fire tenders from Kadri fire service arrived at the spot and managed to douse the fire.

As an immediate measure all guests and staff in the hotel were evacuated

Urwa police have registered a case.
