Mangalore : Goods worth nearly Rs 4 lakh were destroyed in a fire in a shamiyana shop at Kapikad near Tokkottu on the morning of November 2, Friday. A short circuit is said to be the cause of the mishap which took please in the wee hours.

The shop  Shakti Durga Shamiyana’ owned by Chandrashekar used to rent shamiyana, chairs etc for wedding and other occasions.

The fire tender vehicles which rushed to the spot, helped in extinguishing the fire.
