Mangaluru : A fire mishap disrupted the construction of the barrier on the Netravati River bridge by a short circuit in the welding machine on the bridge on Saturday.

The barrier on the bridge is being constructed to prevent the regular suicides occurring on the bridge. The construction work has been going on for the past few days.

Kankanady police arrived at the spot and efforts are made to douse the fire.
