Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary announced that the State’s Finance Department has decided to waive about Rs 60 crore loaned amount to 23,000 fishermen.

The amount will be deposited into the borrowers account through the land cell directory,” the minister said in his statement.

Poojary expressed thanks to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and MP and BJP Karnataka chief Nalin Kumar Kateel on behalf of the State’s fishermen said, in a release on April 24.
