Mangaluru : The fifth day of Ganeshotsava celebrations held in Mangalore city with great religious favour. Idols of Ganapathi worshiped and immersed after puja and grand procession on Tuesday, August 29.
The 70th Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava celebrations at Sanghaniketan, concluded with a grand Shobhayatra, Various religious rituals were held prior to the procession. There was Mahapooja and prasada distribution after which the glorious procession began.
The colourful procession included the Kerala chende team, bhajans team, and passed through Mannagudda, Carstreet and concluded near the Mahamayee Temple were the idol was immersed in the Temple lake.
Ganeshotsava procession KSRTC Ganeshotsav concludes : The 32nd Sri Ganeshotsava celebrations at the KSRTC Bus stand premises at Bejai under the aegis of the Sri Vidyaganapathi Seva Trust,KSRTC Mangalore Division also concluded on Tuesday evening.
A colourful Shobhayatra was taken out on the main streets. The procession included Chende, Kalladka dolls, Nasik band, fire work show and several tableaux. Even this procession concluded at Mahamaya Temple lake where the idol was immersed.
Ganeshotsava procession Police Lane Ganeshotsava : The Ganeshotsava Celebratiosn at the Muneeshwara Mahaganapathi Temple, Police Lane also concluded on Tuesday evening. The colourful procession passed through State Bank, Bunder Police station, Central Market where there were poojas for Ganesha and the idol was immersed in the sea at old port area.
The police have maintained tight security toe ensure peace during Ganeshotsava celebrations which will continue for upto a week.
