Mangalore : South Asian Cochrane Centre and Fr. Muller Medical College (FMMC) jointly organized a workshop titled Evidence-based Medicine on the premises of FMMC on Dec 2 Friday.

Participating as the resource person, Prof. Prathap Tharayan, the director of South Asian Cochrane Network and Centre in Vellore, said that the Cochrane library has a number of international affiliations and benefits many researchers.

He said that any information regarding the efficiency of medical intervention is available in the Cochrane library.

Dr. Prabha Adhikari said that Research is a 24-hour job and sharing her experiences in publishing an article, she said that this taught her of the importance of maintaining records and analysing data.

The audience comprised largely of medical students and professionals. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, the director of FMCI; Fr. Denis D’Sa, the administrator of FMMC; Dr. Jayaprakash Alva, the dean; and Dr. Smitha Bhat were also present.
