Mangalore : Fr. Muller Medical College (FMMC) medical education unit in association with South Asian Cochrane Network will jointly hold an introductory workshop on “Evidence – Informed Health Care” at FMMC on December 2, Friday.
Dr. Prathap Tharayan, the director of South Asian Cochrane Network and Centre, will be the resource person.
Speaking press conference held at Press Club today, he said Dr. J. P. Alva, the dean of FMMC, said that the Cochrane Collaboration, which was launched in 1993, is an international network of over 28,000 members from 100 countries. They provide a common platform for policy makers, healthcare providers, patients, advocates, and others and helps them make informed health care choices. This is done through the preparation, publication, and promotion of Cochrane Reviews. More than 4,600 Cochrane Reviews are now available online at the Cochrane Library, he said.
Medical Education Unit Convener Dr. Smitha Bhat was also present at the press conference.
