Mangalore : A foreigner identified as Sanoos from Georgia was caught while two others managed to escape after they were trying toe scape after looting gold from the Rajadhani Jewellers at Tokkottu Junction on January 10, Thursday.
According to reporters a total of three persons including two foreigners who had entered the jewellery had escaped with two gold bangles and a bracelet. When the theft came to light the police were alerted. The Mulki police were informed by the Ullal police and after a hot chase was trapped near Kinnigoli where the car was abandoned by the trio. Locals helped in apprehending one of them. Police found the car abandoned near Kinnigoli and one of them caught hold of by locals.
In the car, the police found Sanoos’ passport, burkha, condoms, ganja, cigarettes, fake gold bangles and a mobile phone. It is learnt the trio had stolen two gold bangles and a bracelet, totally weighing 30 grams and estimated at Rs 1.20 lac.
A case has been registered in the Mulky police station.
