Mangalore : DK Working Journalists’ Union in association with Mangalore Press Club and forest department of Mangalore division observed Vanamahotsav programme at Kadri Park, on August 2.Friday.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme State Forest Minister and District in charge Minister B Ramanath Rai congratulated the journalists for organizing Vanamahotsava.

He also said that   it is the responsibility of every citizen to create awareness among others and plant saplings and nurture it with care.

Rai also said that he will also start ‘Laksha Vraksha Abhiyana’ from tomorrow and it will also be flagged off ion Mangalore. He urged various institutions and organizations to join hands with the forest department to work for the success of the project.

Clifford Lobo and other journalists joined in planting the saplings at Kadri Park.

DK District Working Journalists’ Union president Harish Rai welcomed the gathering.
