Bantwal : A leopard which had devoured cattle and calves in Chennaithodi village and was giving sleepless nights to villagers has finally been trapped.

On July 11, Wednesday morning, the leopard was caught in the cage placed as a trap for it. The leopard had come to eat a dog but was caught. Several people had arrived to see the wild animal. It was later shifted to Pilikula Nisargadhama in Mangalore.

It is said it had eaten the cattle of one Madhava who had informed the forest officials regarding the menace.
