Kasargod: Formal inauguration of Vishwa Tuluvere Ayano was held at Badiyadka on Sunday. Though the festival of Tulunadu tradition and culture began on Friday, it was formally flagged off on Sunday.
Grand procession depicting various communities was held before the inaugural ceremony. Procession began from Navajeevana School and culminated at Bolukatte ground.
After inaugurating the programme Kerala Revenue Minister E Chandrasekharan said that languages are used to pass the message and exchange the views and opinions to others. Language should not be a barrier. We all are one and that is the most important thing.
Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes said that continues efforts should be made to include Tulu in the 8th schedule of constitution.
Later he released Tulu dictionary written by Dr Sridharan of Kannur. E Chandrasekharan released Tulu calendar in Tulu script.
