Mangaluru : Former president of Billawara Association Mumbai and former chairman of Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited Jaya C Suvarna passed away on Wednesday, October 21 at his Nilgiri Residence East of Goregaon. He was 74.

He is survived by wife Leelavathi Jaya Suvarna and four sons. The funeral of the deceased will be held at the Goregaon East in the evening on Wednesday, family sources informed.

Karnataka Rajyotsava Awardee Jaya C Suvarna was born on May 15, 1946, near Padubidri in Udupi district to Chandu Poojary and Achu Poojarti. He was educated at Adwe and completed his graduation Chinnai College in Andheri, Mumbai in 1974.
